Conforming to the great philosopher Plato, “a teacher is the physician of the mind” as he or she guides the students from the depths of willful ignorance to the higher heights of actual knowledge and reflected glory.
Teachers are the ones who have a significant influence on how our foreseeable future is shaped. They teach, bestow experiences and understandings, openly discuss ethical principles, and instill morality all through everything that they do, from the Pre-Kinder Garden to our Post-Doctoral grants, trying to help us create a strong temperament within us. And with this, we can’t deny that we keep a special place in our hearts through much of our lives for them. We can all concur that there is a clear-cut relationship among us and our teachers.
Then, however, as I came of age and have become aware of Mother's Day and Teachers Day celebrations, I began to reflect on from whom I had apparently learned the most. Who has had the biggest influence on my life? The answer is—my mother. She appears to be the best and the most influencing teacher I've ever had, despite the fact that I've had a lot of wonderful ones over through the years. She is without a doubt my best teacher. How so? Because she will always say that having to raise four kids all on her own has never been an easy journey. That in her long life, she endured something beyond her fair share of hardship and emotional turmoil. But my mother never ever let hardship control her life or the long term future of her children, and that is one of her best qualities that I love the most. She strongly believes that, amidst how challenging life may very well be, a rainbow will always break through the raindrops.
I saw a rainbow spring up from the cold rain. When? It was when my mother put in a lot of effort and time every day while we were born and raised. She gave us everything we needed up until this point while working as a teacher from a private high school to a public elementary school. She even used to make cookies and some other sweets to raise some money for our education, I remember. She emphasized then that our education is very much important, which resulted in three of her children having degrees as I come to reach mine as well.
Upon having witnessed all of my mother's hard times, I started to realize how challenging and complicated life is. It worsened to the moment where I apparently started to seriously second guess my abilities to survive life. Nevertheless, she continues to remind me that "having to work hard and choosing to believe in oneself that you are capable of it, is a worthwhile endeavor something that never fails," enough that from the very first time I listened to her say it, to the present, I have firmly grounded it in my recollection and carried it with me, having to support me as a motivation and inspiration. With this remark, she imparted to me the real meaning and significance of perseverance and education in wanting to pursue my goals. She went above and beyond to impart in me the principles of self-control, basic respect, as well as time management. She clearly taught me not to ever consider quitting. She was always equipped to provide me with the encouragement and direction I actually needed as I was trying to deal with the emotional difficulties life had offered up to me.
But those aren't the only facets that make her "the best" in my eyes; she also plays a key role in other, more modest ways, like by having to ask, “How are you doing?” at morning tea, lunchtime, and evening meal have always been my favorite times. And after eating, we struck up a conversation about our days while helping her with the dishes. Now, having to remember such times make my heart feel happiness to the brim as I realize that my mother indeed succeed in having to raise me and my siblings with a lot of love, care, and morality. And by this, I hope that one day I will be a great parent such as her as well.
From here, I'd contend that my mother is my best teacher seeing as she properly taught me everything I needed to understand about life. She has given me a slew of inspirational learnings that have supported me in far more ways than I could have ever imagined. She was my first teacher even before I started learning, served as my very first classroom even before I could go to a real school.I
can't put into words enough respect and appreciation to her for all that she
has taught me. Nevertheless, she has been and will continue to be my best
teacher.
